Despite its name, Blair Athol distillery is not situated in the town of Blair Atholl, but rather a few miles south in Pitlochry very near to Edradour. Blair Athol was founded at the end of the 18th century. It is a large distillery with the traditional ivy covered buildings and wooden washbacks still in use. One can consider Blair Athol the home of Bell's blended whiskies and it has been a major part of the Bell's blends since Arthur Bells days in the 1930's. Official expressions are a 12 year old in the Flora & Fauna series 27 year old in the Rare Malts series.
