The new Clynelish distillery was constructed by Distillers Company Limited (DCL) in 1967, next to the old Clynelish (Brora). The difference in style between the two is great. The new Clynelish is a modern, large-scale distillery with a glass fronted still house whereas the old Clynelish (Brora) is of a traditional build with a Pagoda topped kiln. Also the character of each distilleries whisky was different with Brora being a heavily peated whisky, almost Islay like in character while Clynelish was much less peated and exhibited a hint of mustard. Official releases are a 14 year old in the Classic Malts series
