Glen Albyn was built in 1844 and was one of three Inverness based distilleries. All three of these distilleries have since been closed. Millburn was closed in 1985 and subsequently demolished while Glen Albyn and Glen Mhor were closed a few years previously. It went through some radical changes in its lifetime, starting out as a brewery and then transformed into a flourmill in 1860's before returning to a distillery 20 years later. Glen Albyn was a compact distillery with most of its whisky used for blending. No official bottlings have been released. The site is now a B&Q store.
