The American company Publicker, who then owned Inver House blends, built Glen Flagler in 1964. It was built in a former paper mill and shared the complex with another malt distillery called Killyloch, and a grain distillery called Garnheath. Glen Flagler had a life span of a little over two decades and is one of the shortest-lived distilleries in the history of Scotch whisky. It was sold as single malt in the 1960's and 1970's but its sole purpose was for the American blended whisky market. As the demand for blended whisky grew smaller in the US, Glen Flagler was deemed surplus to requirements and demolished. This is a highly collectable whisky in today's market.
