Glenlossie whisky is highly regarded by blenders and subsequently used mostly for blending. As a single only one official bottling has been released, a 10 year old in the Flora & Fauna series. Glenlossie's high quality has however inspired many independent bottlers to release versions. The distillery, built in 1876 sits adjacent to Mannochmore distillery, built in 1971. It also shares staff with Mannochmore. Also on the premises is a large dark grains plant built in the early 1990s to manage the harmful waste produce of the distillery by turning draff and pot ale into cattle feed. The plant can process 2,600 tonnes of draff and 8 million litres of pot ale in to 1,000 tonnes of dark grains. The unit also serves ten other distilleries in the vicinity.
