Macduff is a modern distillery built mainly for the purpose of supplying malt whisky for the blending industry, principally for William Lawson blends. It is situated opposite Banff, next to the River Deveron where the whisky takes its name. Only a small amount of Macduff is bottled as single malt, usually as a Glen Deveron 10 year old but many appreciate the clean and mild taste. Bacardi acquired Macduff in 1992 after buying previous owners Martini Rossi.
